When she was 36 years old, Mother Teresa felt the call from God to help the poor of India. Her message of peace was meant for all who choose violence, especially those who use religion to divide one human being from another. I mean, she said she was, and she said she did it all for God. She formed the Co-Workers of Mother Teresa and the Sick and Suffering Co-Workers, people of many faiths and nationalities with whom she shared her spirit of prayer, simplicity, sacrifice and her apostolate of humble works of love. Mother truly believed that serving the poor and destitute is service to God himself.
But there was another heroic side of this great woman that was revealed only after her death. This is the best book on Mother Teresa's life. . If she hadn't been brought up Catholic, she would just be some crazy lady sleeping in the dirt touching the untouchables, I swear. It gives the meaning of selfless life, love and faith. How every baby born, under every single circumstance, is a blessing.
